Newly elected president told not to break promises

Secretary of Lawmaking Body of the East Java's Regional Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PWNU) KH Syafruddin Sharif warned a presidential and vice presidential candidates pair winning the 2014 presidential election to exercise restraint.<>
Syafruddin also called on the would-be president and vice president not to be arrogant and break the promises as they made during the presidential election campaigns.
"Because in essence, all (promises) are a mandate that must be translated into action for coming five years in ruling the country," he told NU Online here Sunday (20/7).
He also called on all parties to help create a conducive atmosphere following the presidential election final round and expected the elected president and vice president to understand the people's aspirations.
At the sametime, Syafruddin also called on the losing presidential dan vice presidential candidates to accept the fact wholeheartedly and not make things that could cause unrest in society.
"If there is dissatisfaction, it should be done in ways that have been guaranteed by the constitution," he hoped.
He said that maintaining a conducive environment was a must, especially for the success team of both presidential and vice presidential candidates pairs.
"The success team should not intimidate and make things that could hurt the democratic party in which the ending of all this is elected leaders of the people," he said, adding that "a difference is a must, it depends on the people on how to deal with the difference maturely."
