NU: Mosques could be used to empower families

Member of the Advisory "syuriyah" Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) Jusuf Kalla said that the socialization of family empowerment programs could be implemented through mosques or houses of worships in society. With positive activities in mosques, community could get double benefits, to increase faith and give various inputs to family empowerment.<>
"Many activities can be held in a mosque that can improve people life, such as socialization and implementation of family empowerment program," Kalla sho is also Chairman of Committee of Indonesia's Mosque Council (DMI), said here recently.
A mosque can prosper community. For example, at 7 to 11 o'clock, a mosque is not so crowded. It can be used for early childhood education. Kids can play in mosque to deepening their religious side and academic side.
Chairman of Darmindiri Foundation, Haryono Suyono explained that it became national buzz if DMI supported family empowerment in the country. Now there are about 800 thousand mosques in Indonesia, members of DMI. The figure will extend through existing networks.
