Jordan on Saturday condemned an attack by Israeli forces against worshippers after Friday's prayer at al-Aqsa mosque, state-run Petra news agency reported. <>
Jordanian Minister for Media Affairs, Mohammad Momani, said Israeli forces fired tear gas and live bullets on those praying at the mosque on Friday.
Jordan has requested the Israeli government not to allow the entry of radical Jews into al-Aqsa and avoid violent actions, but the Israeli government ignored the request, said Momani.
The Israeli government's insistence to allow radical Jews to enter the mosque and its yards seeks to incite religious conflict and provoke the feeling of Muslims, he said.
He warned that Israel's actions are against holy sites in Jerusalem and preventing worshippers from reaching worship places is rejected and violates international laws and treaties.
